The Kimpton Armory Hotel is now open in Montana’s Big Sky Country—the San Francisco-based brand’s first property in the Treasure State. Located in the heart of downtown Bozeman, the 122-room hotel occupies the landmark National Guard Armory building, which was reimagined by Kyle Dornberger of local studio Venue Architects to marry the rugged beauty of the surrounding landscape with the storied history of the structure.
Designed by Colorado-based Studio R Interiors, the property features a modernist sensibility, complete with Art Deco influences informed by the armory’s construction in 1941, as well as natural materials and locally sourced artwork.
Additionally, the Kimpton Armory Hotel is home to more than 8,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, in addition to the 500-seat Armory Music Hall crafted by MARKZEFF. Also crafted by the Brooklyn-based firm, the three onsite F&B options include the upscale American concept Fielding’s, the basement speakeasy and music venue Tune Up, and the glass-enclosed rooftop bar Sky Shed, which crowns the building.
