Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has completed a multimillion-dollar refresh at Eventi Hotel, which opened in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood in 2010.
Headed by Brooklyn-based design firm Crème Design, the project includes a new black steel façade, living room lobby concept, and upgraded F&B options led by James Beard Award nominee Laurent Tourondel and Michelin-starred George Mendes.
The 292-room hotel, with apartment-style accommodations, has updated its lobby with contemporary furnishings and finishes that nod to New York with a 20th century-inspired canopy, a stacked felt reception desk, fabric-wrapped panels, and custom brass light fixtures. Blackened steel and textured glass screens form semi‐transparent partitions between an expansive lobby seating area and the Vine lounge, with modern art connecting the two spaces.
The Vine—a 2,500-square-foot venue with an 85-seat capacity—comprises a bar, lounge, and elevated library. Lupulo, which is Portuguese for hops, takes inspiration from Lisbon’s iconic breweries and includes a raw bar and charcuterie station. Its interiors reference traditional Portuguese taverns with blue and white tiles; rustic wood accents; decorative found objects; and tile-topped tables with black iron accents that surround a 35-seat blackened steel-topped bar.
Additional amenities include a spa, fitness center, a parking garage, and more than 20,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor event space.
