San Francisco’s Laurel Inn is set to reveal its dramatic renovation later this month. Tel Aviv-based interior designer Oren Bronstein spearheaded the redesign, which sought to interpret the boutique property’s iconic 1950s character through a modern lens.
A rich blend of luxurious fabrics and patterns span the interior, while chenille, silk, velvet, and wool are offset by a subtle palette of blues and browns. Retro-inspired furniture and American walnut populate both the public spaces and all 49 guestrooms. Envisioned as an upscale living room, the hotel lobby contextualizes the neighborhood residence style with velvet chairs, midcentury carpeting, and herringbone Carrera floors. Artwork from local Bay Area artists and the city’s Lost Art Salon gallery appear throughout the property, highlighting both contemporary and midcentury styles.
