The eight-story Archer Hotel Austin is slated to open this summer, reveling in a casual yet chic Texas aesthetic from Wichita, Kansas-based firm Law Kingdon Architecture (LK Architecture). The hotel will also introduce signature restaurant Second Bar + Kitchen from chef David Bull, and a curated art collection celebrating the spirit of Austin with pieces from a slew of local artists.
The hotel’s 96 guestrooms and 75 suites span six different residentially inspired design schemes including details like canopy beds, diverse headboards and footboards, large freestanding soaking tubs, and sliding glass doors. Select suites will enjoy canopied balconies clad with ashlar-patterned fireplaces or double-sided, wraparound balconies, while King suites will feature four distinct Austin murals including depictions of handmade cowboy boots and the city’s iconic Sixth Street. Reclaimed leather belts also appear in the headboards of the king patio suites, continuing a motif first found behind the reception desk. Porcelain tiles resembling weathered wood will be used in all of the guestroom bathrooms.
The inviting lobby encourages leisure with a fireplace and 30-foot mural complemented by patio limestone underfoot. A striking 18-foot custom chandelier at arrival made from iron and crystals exemplifies Austin’s rustic luxury, and a stone-clad staircase with floating glass handrails leads to the second floor meeting and event space. The property’s 5,000-square-foot pool deck will include a large firebox adjacent to the seasonal pool bar as well as luxurious cabanas and comfortable seating areas.
The Archer Austin’s more than 16,500 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting space will include 2,400 square feet of pre-function space and the 2,500-square-foot second floor terrace. Five meeting rooms and two breakout rooms will house groups ranging in size from 10 to more than 300.
