Mama Shelter will make its UK debut next year with the opening of the Mama Shelter Shoreditch in London. Parisian design firm Dion & Arles will lead the strategic transformation of the existing RE Hotel London Shoreditch into the 193-room East London property.
Slated for a 2019 debut, the hotel will welcome guests with a 600-square-foot lobby, and feature 2,600 square feet of meeting areas. A 4,000-square-foot restaurant will comprise an indoor patio as well as an outdoor terrace. Mama Shelter Shoreditch will also be home to the café concept Mama’s Kiss, which will be among several amenities aimed to target locals and visitors alike.
Mama Shelter currently has four properties in France, including in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Bordeaux; Los Angeles; and Rio de Janeiro. Prague; Toulouse, France; Lisbon; Dubai; and Belgrade, Serbia are all on the boards. In 2014, Accor acquired a 35 percent stake in Mama Shelter.
