The Meliá Caribe Tropical in the Dominican Republic has announced plans to transform itself into new resort concepts: the adults-only Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort and the family property Meliá Caribe Beach Resort. Led by Spanish architect Álvaro Sans, the overhaul is slated for completion by the end of 2018.
The Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort will be home to 538 guestrooms, including 136 suites featured as part of its elevated service concept the Level. Amenities for Level guests will include preferential facilities ranging from an exclusive pool and restaurant to a VIP lounge for check-in and check-out. The rest of the property will be rounded out with the gastronomic experience Mosaico, as well as the Asian-fusion eatery Muoi. The elegant Casa Nostra will also be featured alongside the open-air restaurant Rumba and the sports bar Replay.
The Level will also be featured at the Meliá Caribe Beach Resort, with 154 Level suites housed across the resort’s 603 accommodations. In addition to an interactive waterpark and arcade, the resort will also be home to seven new F&B spaces such as the all-day eatery Riviera, the Spanish concept Alma, and the beachfront Merkado. Tartufo and Bazaar are set to open next year.
