Meliá Hotels and Resorts has announced that the Meliá Coco Beach will reopen this December in Puerto Rico following a multimillion-dollar renovation from Spanish architect Álvaro Sans. In addition to upgraded amenities, the refurbishment will also yield the property’s new concept, the Level.
Home to 486 guestrooms, the hotel’s accommodations average the largest footprint of any on the island. Fully redesigned, each of the spaces reflect elements of the surrounding landscape with a new emphasis on natural light and colors as well as soothing patterns and warm, traditional décor. All of the guestrooms will span a two-story bungalow overlooking the sea and lush onsite gardens. The Level, the hotel’s elevated service concept, will comprise 126 junior suites and six oceanfront villas that boast exclusive access to a private lounge, pool, and superlative in-room amenities.
The property will also welcome a 41,280-square-foot meeting and event space equipped to accommodate a variety of configurations. The sprawling space will also feature an expansive ballroom and a foyer outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows.
