Spanish hotel chain Meliá Hotels has revealed plans to roll out a series of new properties in Asia, the Middle East, Central America, and Europe throughout 2021. Next year’s openings will kick off with the launch of the 164-key ME Barcelona in Paseo de Gracia, followed by the 498-room Paradisus Playa Mujeres in Q1. Drawing upon the Mexican design and architectural vernacular, the latter property will be a self-contained oasis featuring a lush landscape design punctuated by tropical gardens.
The company’s growth will continue into the second quarter with the 388-room Gran Meliá Zhengzhou in the business district of the Henan, China capital. September 2021 will see the opening of the Gran Meliá am Ranh Bau, which will encompass 201 accommodations and 92 villas, in southeastern Vietnam, and the year will wrap with the addition of another ME by Meliá project: ME Doha. The first Meliá property in the Qatari capital, the forthcoming hotel will house 235 guestrooms and a robust lineup of amenities, including a fitness center, spa, three restaurants, three bars, a nightclub, an open-air cinema, and an infinity pool installed against the backdrop of the city skyline.

ME Doha is slated to open during Q4 2021
