MGM Resorts and New York-based Sydell Group have partnered to revitalize and rebrand the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The estimated $450 million overhaul will include the launch of two signature hotel experiences: the luxury Park MGM resort and the NoMad Las Vegas. The two new hotels will signal the completion of MGM’s neighborhood redesign of the central Las Vegas Strip, which began in 2009.
The 2,700-guestroom Park MGM will target a younger demographic of Las Vegas visitors, expanding on the property’s history by incorporating European-inspired designs from British designer Martin Brudnizki. The residential-style atmosphere will be defined by clean lines, classic furnishings, and abundant artwork. Park MGM will also debut the first full-scale Eataly marketplace and cafés in the Southwest. The hotel will boast direct access to major entertainment venues like the T-Mobile Arena, the Park, and the upcoming 5,300-seat Park Theater, which will open this year.
Drawing its influence from the NoMad flagship property in New York, the 292-guestroom NoMad Las Vegas will feature designs from Sydell Group as well as French designer Jacques Garcia, who crafted Parisian hotels like Royal Manceau and Hôtel Costes. In addition to a dedicated lobby and swimming pool, the hotel will house an onsite restaurant from chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara, the minds behind the award-winning NoMad restaurant in New York and Eleven Madison Park.
Although design and development details are still in the works, construction is expected to begin later this year and be completed in late 2018.
