Sbe has announced that the Mondrian Park Avenue hotel will open in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood this fall. Designed by Philippe Starck and managed by Journal Hotels, the property will be housed within a 20-story office building from 1918 that now boasts five new floors added during the conversion.
The Mondrian will host 189 guestrooms and suites, as well as 7,000 square feet of meeting space including a private rooftop meeting room. It will also be appointed with a 120-seat Cleo restaurant from chef Danny Elmaleh, an sbe signature that showcases eastern and southern Mediterranean culture with a modern spin. It will be the first to open in New York and the fifth overall.
The global brand currently has properties in Los Angeles, London, and South Beach with plans to expand to the Middle East in October with the Modrian Doha in Qatar.
