YTL Hotels is slated to introduce its latest UK property, Monkey Island Estate, this spring along the historic village of Bray-on-Thames, Berkshire, England. Set upon seven acres, the countryside retreat boasts an 800-year history. The striking white bricked Pavilion and Temple buildings will now make up the main hotel areas of Monkey Island Estate, surrounded by picturesque views of the River Thames and manicured gardens.
New York-based firm and frequent YTL collaborator New York-based Champalimaud Design led the restoration of the property’s 27 guestrooms and three luxe suites. The timeless glamour of Monkey Island’s furnishings will juxtapose modern elements that recall the relaxed bucolic setting. In addition to the casual onsite dining concept Monkey Island Brasserie, the historic landmark will provide access to the nearby eateries of Bray, which is home to three Michelin-starred restaurants.
