New York-based design firm Krause Sawyer has completed the first phase of updates at the New York Marriott Downtown. Set to undergo a comprehensive renovation, the property recently introduced a redesign of 509 guestrooms and six suites.
Classic and contemporary sensibilities are blended across the rooms, which evoke tranquility through a soothing neutral palette. Sleek parquet floors recall Old World elegance in tandem with refined details like wall paneling moldings. Sleeper sofas offer a dose of coziness into the sun-drenched spaces, which feature sculptural artwork to add greater visual intrigue and depth. Full-length mirrors are equipped with wall hooks to provide added storage, while the stone console tables are crafted with dark bronze metal frame and legs.
The renovations also included an update of the Concierge Lounge, which is now designed as a marble-style entry portal.
