International luxury hotel brand AKA has planted its latest flag in Lower Manhattan with the launch of the AKA Tribeca, the first hotel in brand’s portfolio of hotel residences.
Formerly home to the Smyth Hotel, the new AKA location features a ground floor designed as a gathering spot solely for hotel guests and residents as the property features 15 condominium units and 100 guest rooms. Designed by Jennifer Post, the lobby lounge showcase a dramatic atmosphere with a color palette of charcoal black, cashmere gray, and bronze. The bar is framed by a back-lit acrylic art panel with lighting control to suit the mood. Striking mid-century furniture populates the interior, set against the two-sided modern gas fireplace that divides the lounge and bar areas.
Characterized by a warm color palette and sleek furnishings, Platinium Suites are hotel’s crown jewels, crafted by AKA designer Nicholas Cardone.
