The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico has unveiled its newly refreshed Astor Ballroom. The multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion was executed by fashion and interior designer Nono Maldonado, who expanded the venue by 50 percent to accommodate up to 320 seated guests.
Featuring 21-foot-talll ceilings, the ballroom can transform to suit a variety of occasions. Clad with elegant overhead chandeliers, the space is divided into three sections ranging from 1,560 to 1,650 square feet.
The ballroom’s redesigned foyer spans 2,300 square feet as well as vibrant coral tiling and floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors overlooking Astor Terrace’s lush tree canopy. Indigenous trees and plant life frame the handcrafted wood terrace and center pavilion to establish a connection between inside and out.
