Nordelaia, a new independent hotel in Italy’s Piedmont region, is slated to open this July. Spread across more than 12 acres of Italian wine country, Nordelaia is housed within an 800-year-old farmhouse that’s undergone a three-year renovation by British design studio These White Walls.
“Our design for Nordelaia is centered around wellbeing and escapism—the aim being to create a holistic and nurturing environment in which guests can relax, switch off, and connect not only with each other, but also with the stunning landscape that surrounds them,” says Rose Murray, founder of These White Walls. “We define this design as ‘rustic-luxe,’ where rest and reconnection with nature go hand-in-hand with cultivated indulgence.”
Onsite F&B options will include an all-day bistro on the ground floor and a fine dining concept on the second level—both of which will reinforce the surrounding nature in aesthetics and cuisine. The bistro will be adorned with earthen hues of deep green, red, and black, while the upper-level eatery will recall the bloom of the onsite gardens with plaster pink walls and peachy gloss tiles and textiles. Housed within the vaults of the structure, the onsite spa will total more than 4,800 square feet and feature a Turkish hammam, banja, Kneipp pool, yoga studio, fitness center, and an herb room.
Each of Nordelaia’s 12 guestrooms will feature its own unique design, crafted to showcase Italian heritage and local craftsmanship. Garden rooms will be defined by a palette of textured materials—including rustic wood, natural stone, burnished metal, and wrought iron—while legacy rooms, on the second floor, will be adorned with a more ornate materiality of velvet and brass. Crowning the hotel will be the Attico suites, which will promote digital detox with amenities like freestanding bathtubs, four-poster beds, and private terraces.
