The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Edinburgh, has completed its multimillion-dollar refresh as part of its 20th anniversary. The signature castle structure received its facelift from Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotel’s director of building and design.
The redesign focused on enhancing the hotel’s west wing with an authentic Scottish woodland theme reflected in a new palette of blue, purple, and gray. Wallpaper depicts Scotland’s landscapes with abstractions of foliage and trees, while carved mirrors, and branch-like bronze table legs further amplify the botanical theme. Recessed window seats in each guestroom embrace the natural and city views. Each accommodation—including 37 guestrooms, three main function suites, deluxe suites, and the J.K. Rowling suite—was also reimagined to emphasize their original cornicing, high ceilings, and windows.
