Omeon Mykonos, a five-star, adults-only retreat operated by SWOT, will open later this month on Greece’s Agios Stefanos Bay.
Simple and clean Cycladic lines
The 38-room boutique property, which unfolds across five interwoven buildings, is designed as a sanctuary by Greek architecture firm Urban Soul Project. Its architecture pays homage to Cycladic minimalism, with traditional Myconean forms, delicate claustra, and large windows that play with light and shadow incorporated throughout both communal and private spaces.
Notably, the building utilizes organic shapes and free-form lines. These curves were traditionally used to mitigate the accumulation of windblown dust during windy island days and to ease the movement of guests through narrow passages and semicircular privacy walls.
These organic forms are complemented by outdoor spaces that echo natural sandy landscapes with village-like pathways enveloped by lush foliage.
Restorative guestrooms at Omeon
Supporting the philosophy of slow living, Omeon Mykonos’ guestrooms serve as personal sanctuaries that capture uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea through apertures framed in dark wood.
Each of the 38 accommodations blend warm timbers with traditional patterns and warm, atmospheric lighting. A subdued palette of earthy tones acts as a canvas across the interiors, which employ natural materials—like marble, timber, and local stone—alongside custom terrazzo finishes.
Sheltered beneath woven pergolas and built arches, private terraces and balconies provide views of the seafront as well.
Amenities abound
Beyond the guestrooms, Omeon features a restaurant, signature bar, and cocktail bar that encapsulate the Greek indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
For wellness, the signature Soma Spa blends ancient Greek healing rituals with modern treatments, complemented by a dedicated retail space and an open-air gym equipped for sunset yoga sessions.
At the heart of the communal areas, an infinity pool incorporates a sand-mimicking effect that mirrors the water disappearing on the nearby seashore.
