Omni Hotels & Resorts has inaugurated its latest outpost, Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, in the heart of the city’s downtown area. The property rises 17 stories above Oklahoma City, in close proximity to both the Oklahoma City Convention Center and Chesapeake Energy Arena.
For the interiors, the setting’s pastoral landscapes are reinterpreted via rustic earthen tones that pay homage to the prairie land and sunsets. The material palette used across the hotel further establishes the localized feel. “The lobby area welcomes guests with natural earth materials that truly paint the mural of Oklahoma,” says Laura McKoy, vice president of interior design at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “Also, in the lobby, layers of wood, metal mesh lighting fixtures, and chevron patterns tie back to the neighboring Scissortail Park.” Artwork by local artist David Holland also instills a sense of place in guestroom corridors.
All 605 accommodations, including 29 suites, are populated with handsome furnishings that reflect regional influences and set against the dramatic backdrop of skyline vistas and views of Scissortail Park. The hotel’s 17th floor is specifically crafted with professional basketball players in mind. These rooms are anchored by California king beds, larger door frames, as well as higher ceilings and showerheads.
In addition to seven F&B options, the full-service Mokara Spa includes a relaxation lounge, sauna, and nail salon. The spa’s tranquil design nods to the state’s cotton market. Wellness is further promoted with the onsite fitness center and rooftop pool terrace.
