Omni Hotels & Resorts has completed a multimillion-dollar public space renovation at the Omni Providence Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. The lobby, meeting spaces, indoor pool, and coffee shop were all included in the redesign.
The renovations include new furniture and carpeting in the open-air lobby as well as entirely redecorated meeting spaces. All breakout rooms and ballrooms received new wallcoverings and carpeting, specially designed to complement the new artwork commissioned for the hotel. A tile mosaic was also added that depicts a historic photograph of the city.
“The Omni Providence had some wonderful detailing in place when we started the project,” says Billie Thorne of Atlanta-based CMMI Design, who led the renovations. “Our goal was to provide a current and sophisticated feel while maintaining and enhancing the classic detailing found throughout the hotel.”
Morsel’s, the hotel’s coffee shop, was completely redesigned to make room for bar and table seating. The hotel’s indoor and heated pool, one of the only pools in downtown Providence, was also updated and now offers lightweight wicker furniture and a new deck made of chilewich basket weave.
