The Opus Westchester, an Autograph Collection hotel, has debuted in White Plains, New York. Managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, the new property evokes a luxe residential-style quality that balances a rich urban character with a soothing energy.
“For the design of the Opus Westchester, we wanted to bring fresh energy and charisma to White Plains, capturing the relaxing calm of a sanctuary retreat infused with an unmistakably city soul throughout,” says Vincent Celano, CEO and founder of Celano Design Studio, which handled the hotel’s interior design. “The Opus will be an amazing add to the Westchester, New York area and the surrounding community and its guests—adding to its growing vibrance and urban vibe.”
An eclectic array of furniture, art, and décor populates the interiors—striking a balance between tradition, modern, and whimsical accents. In the lobby, antique mirrors and columns clad with walnut wood panels serve as a backdrop for contemporary furnishings that inject the space with bold, vibrant tones. The upscale-yet-approachable space balances its traditional material palette with lush green walls.
The convivial lobby bar is punctuated by a colorful, abstract carpet installed beneath walnut coffered ceilings. Metallic accents and modern pendants infuse a contemporary flair alongside barstools wrapped in animal prints and bright textures, while green velvet banquettes are paired with stone tables and mod leather lounge chairs.
Located 42 stories above the street, rooftop restaurant Kanopi embraces panoramic views of the Hudson Valley and Long Island Sound. A pool and deck lined with teak furniture and greenery is also be featured on the roof.
The Opus’s 146 guestrooms and 38 opulent suites echo the lobby’s residential-inspired ethos with spacious layouts and comfortable furniture. Wide plank floors complement sculptural consoles and table lamps composed of red marble and brass, while a range of artwork recalls a thoughtfully curated residential art collection.
