The Overlook Lodge by Cervo Zermatt in Switzerland is set to make its debut in December. Set against a backdrop of the Matterhorn and Swiss Alps, the former 1950s chalet has been outfitted with five new chalets and transformed into an alpine resort by locally based firm Architekten Mooser Lauber and design practice P.5.
Featuring abundant Swiss pine, the clean, contemporary interior design is punctuated with allusions to game hunting with wall-mounted trophies and antlers. Natural wood and stone evoke a warm feeling that complements original wood floors.
Spanning between 236 and 883 square feet, the property’s 35 guestrooms are equipped with a desk as well as a balcony or terrace and some feature sitting rooms or fireplaces. Spanning 645 square feet, the Signature Spa suite is home to a steam bath, fireplace, and terrace appointed with a whirlpool. The 880-square-foot Panoramic Living suite hosts a kitchen, dining room, and sitting room with a fireplace and pullout sofa. Finally, at 2,580 square feet, the Owner’s Lodge comprises three bedrooms, a study, sauna, sitting area, fireplace, and terrace clad with a whirlpool.
