Houston-based architecture practice Content has revealed its design of Paloma, a new non-toxic nail salon in the city’s Uptown section. The serene interior reflects the slogan “Escape to Beautiful.”
Drenched in natural light, the salon is clad with natural materials and textures that complement refined accents. A brass and wood dowel veil is painted white and partitions the reception area from the manicure and pedicure stations. A low platform topped with pale timber is appointed with blue armchairs, brass lamps, and dark wood tables and stools. A variety of greenery adorns the shelving that lines the narrow space for a splash of color. Small tables are installed in the rear of the store to host manicures against a backdrop of ombré wallpaper that transitions from blue to peach.
