London-based firm Scott Brownrigg has designed the Park Plaza Nuremberg, which is located opposite Nuremberg Central Railway Station in the former home of the Bavarian-American Hotel. Set to open this spring, the hotel is inspired by German Renaissance painter and theorist Albrecht Dürer, and Martin Behaim, a German mariner and explorer.
The Park Plaza Nuremberg is the first official hotel to open in the building, which was used as a residence for prosecutors and judges during the Nuremberg trials, and later as an office for the U.S. Army.Â
Dürer’s works influence the design of the 177 guestrooms and suites. Other amenities in the hotel include seven meeting rooms and a fitness center, as well as a bar and restaurant that serves international and Nuremberg-inspired cuisine.Â
Park Plaza Nuremberg will join Park Plaza Wallstreet Berlin Mitte, Park Plaza Prenzlauer Berg Berlin, Park Plaza Berlin Kudamm, and Park Plaza Trier in Germany. Operating over 39 hotels around the world, The brand also recently opened the Park Plaza Arena Pula in Croatia, with plans for additional properties in London this year.
