The Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has revealed plans to undergo a revitalization at the hands of a design team comprising Philadelphia-based practice Daroff Design Inc. + DDI Architects in collaboration with Dallas-based firm HKS Architects, locally based EDSA, Newport Beach, California-based Lifescapes International, and a series of residential design groups.
In addition to nearly 130 new residences, the redevelopment of the 32-acre site will include the opening of new dining and retail spaces. The Pier Sixty-Six hotel will also reopen accommodations for the first time following the destruction of Hurricane Irma in September 2017. The project will slash the room count to 345 accommodations while also expanding suites and replacing the existing lanai building with a new, 10-story hotel tower. New amenities such as two floors of pool decks and 17,000 square feet of spa and fitness facilities will also be created.
