The Pod Times Square has arrived in the heart of Manhattan as the latest property from BD Hotels. The fifth unit in the Pod Hotel collection, the microhotel property spans 28 floors and comprises 665 guestrooms at around 115 square feet. The property is also home to 45 Pod Pads, or living suites, that range from 600 to 800 square feet that are available for extended stay options or longterm leases.
Locally based Vanessa Guilford led the design of the sleek, contemporary interior. Guests are welcomed via a 60-foot-tall glass vestibule, and ascend to the third floor lobby through a glass-enclosed elevator. The interior shaft features a witty mural from Brooklyn artist JM Rizzi. Major Food Group has spearheaded the hotel’s F&B programming, launching the indoor-outdoor Tiki Bar concept in the lobby as well as the newest outpost of the casual Italian eatery Parm. Guests occupying the Pod Pads are also afforded exclusive access to an onsite fitness center and top-floor lounge.
