Locally based design firm Concrete has unveiled the new Postillion Hotel Amsterdam in the Overamstel section of the Dutch capital. Located beside a former bubble gum factory, the 252-key property serves as part of a large-scale overhaul of the industrial neighborhood into a mixed-use hub for living, dining, and recreation. A new public square and roof terrace also reflects the hotel’s connection to its neighbor, which is now known as the coworking complex Kauwgomballenfabriek.
The cascading terrace affords access to all public areas of the Postillion Hotel, which includes the lobby, reception, bars, workspaces, and restaurant. The first floor is home to a 360-degree bar, while a large glass wall wraps the onsite restaurant to frame views of the urban sprawl.
