The historic Hotel Figueroa will return to Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) this December following a comprehensive redesign from Santa Monica-based Studio Collective, which is updating the property’s original 1920s design.
Spanish Colonial architecture is a driving force behind the design of the 268-room hotel’s public spaces, which reflect the evolving lifestyle and culture of DTLA. Rooms will boast custom furnishings and hand-sourced goods, along with a palette of wide-plank hardwood flooring, plaster walls, and bespoke wallpaper. Bathrooms are outfitted with blackened steel and brass fittings as well as custom decorative tiles that honor the property’s Spanish roots. Each of the 62 suites will include locally sourced artwork.
James Beard Award-nominated chef Casey Lane will spearhead the hotel’s two new eateries Breva and Veranda. Hotel Figueroa will also unveil Bar Figueroa; the bartender’s table-style Bar Alta; Terraza, which overlooks the hotel pool; and Rick’s, a Latin-inspired bar located at the area’s only ground-level pool. The hotel also features a 10,000-square-foot desert-like oasis surrounding its courtyard.
