The Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel is set to arrive in the Flower District of Manhattan this fall with local architecture and design firm Stonehill Taylor spearheading the design of the hotel.
The 341 guestrooms will wear a palette of earth tones, wood-paneled wallcoverings, and porcelain tiles made to appear like real wood. Interiors will be adorned with abundant greenery and eclectic vintage accents, while artwork including a two-story installation of antique knobs will be placed above the lobby staircase.
Custom pieces like upside down birdcages and a bird’s nest-inspired pendant will also evoke the flea market theme. The two-floor nightlife lounge, Somewhere Nowhere, will boast one of the city’s most elevated rooftop pools, while an indoor lounge will be housed beneath its garden-like setting too.
More than 7,200 square feet of event spaces will be spread across the space, including the centerpiece Cardinal Ballroom, which will be wrapped with floor-to-ceiling windows and Juliet balconies.
