Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts has unveiled the Four Seasons Hotel Moscow. Respecting the work of original architect Alexei Shchusev, London-based Richmond International pays homage to the hotel’s history with a modern design.
Originally built in the 1930s, the former Hotel Moskva hosted many of the key figures in Russian history and was the unofficial home base for the Soviet Union’s political and cultural power players. The façade has been replicated in detail, including the asymmetry between the two wings that surround a new glass-topped atrium. A birch motif is woven throughout the interiors, and the hotel features decorative details such as column capitals and scalloped rosettes surrounding the main ballroom’s chandelier, and the handcrafted mosaic tiles found in the pool area.
The hotel’s 180 rooms and suites are naturally lit by floor-to-ceiling windows and many have step-out balconies. The property boasts both the 5,000-square foot Minin presidential suite and the 5,600-square-foot seventh floor Pozharsky royal suite, which opens onto an expansive terrace.
The signature dining experience at Four Seasons Hotel Moscow is Quadrum, an Italian restaurant located on the second floor. The hotel also offers Bystro, which serves breakfast and dinner, and the Moskovsky bar.
Amnis Spa at Four Seasons, a more than 28,000-square-foot complex with a mosaic-tiled indoor pool, is also set to open soon.
