Ritz-Carlton has announced the groundbreaking of its latest outpost in the Big Apple: the Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad. Located in the eponymous and stylish Manhattan neighborhood, the $500 million hotel tower is slated to open in 2021. Designed by locally based architecture legend Rafael Viñoly, the tower will ascend more than 500 feet and boast interiors from Yabu Pushelberg.
“The design of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, will pay homage to the neighborhood’s storied history while also creating a new landmark that speaks to its exciting future,” Viñoly says.
Home to 250 guestrooms, the property will also accommodate 16 branded residences. In addition to an upscale restaurant and the brand’s signature Club Lounge and Ritz-Carlton Spa and fitness center, amenities will include a rooftop bar, public garden, and open terraces. Two ballrooms and a 3,000-square-foot outdoor terrace will round out onsite event spaces as well.
