The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park has completed the first phase of its redevelopment from Parisian design firm Gilles & Boissier, which included updates to its accommodations, Club Lounge, and spa. The second phase of renovations are set to kick off in January 2019 with focus on the lobby, lounge, bar, and restaurant—all of which will be upgraded with new F&B concepts beginning in spring 2019.
Inspired by the spirit and style of New York, the refresh impacted interiors including the second-floor Club Lounge. The sprawling space is wrapped in dark wood paneling and accented with white Carrera marble and shades of vibrant green and beige. In the La Prairie at the Ritz-Carlton Spa, six distinct treatment rooms are upgraded with neutral tones adorning the walls, while fleur-de-lis carpeting and chandeliers accentuate the elegant Swiss artistry at the heart of the setting.
Embedded with a firm sense of place, newly designed guestrooms convey sophisticated tranquility and comfort with custom furnishings that blend Beaux Arts classicism with contemporary styles. Soft and natural tones permeate through each accommodation with a dash of blush pink to recall the city skyline after sunset. Creamy hues are instilled with custom carpeting inlaid with a Matisse sketch, while wallpaper depicting cloud formations line the walls alongside New York photography. The hotel’s 47 suites—including five specialty suites and the rebranded presidential suite—are reimagined as their own expansive pied-à -terres. Custom furniture and artwork also punctuate each room.
