The Ritz-Carlton, Santa Barbara has unveiled a series of updates following a refresh from HBA.
The lobby now features furnishings forged from natural materials, which is further enhanced with metallic accents that complement bespoke wooden, leather, and stone details that modernize the space beneath a custom glass chandelier. Handcarved from Italian marble, a new reception desk complements artwork by Niki Zarrabi composed of custom photographs that depict the idyllic cliffs and shoreline of the setting.
The hotel’s Bacara Bar frames expansive coastal views and embraces the region’s history of basket weaving with a woven sculpture added above the bar. A wall of pivoting doors also leads to the Ocean Terrace, which is populated with plush seating, warm fire tables, and a large firepit. Seven modernized indoor meeting and event spaces are refreshed as well, complete with rich earth tones, warm wood elements, cascading sheers, and contemporary lighting.
The sprawling, 42,000-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Spa welcomes visitors with a calming fountain and floor-to-ceiling pendant light at the entrance, which is also punctuated by artwork from Emily Mann. Outfitted with an open ceiling and crisp white walls, the fitness center features warm wood tones and engaging murals that allow the interior to seamlessly connect to an outdoor terrace.
