Ritz-Carlton has announced the development of a second resort hotel on the Chinese tropical island of Hainan, following the signing of an agreement with Hainan Golden Tide Tourism Development. The private oceanfront property will boast China’s first Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The 244-room Ritz-Carlton, Nanyan Bay will include 14 private villas, a luxury spa, fitness center, recreation pavilion, and multiple pools. Five onsite F&B options will include a Chinese restaurant, pool bar and grill, a lobby lounge, and all-day eatery. Housed among the resort’s 17,200 square feet of meeting and event space is the 8,600-square-foot grand ballroom. Additional amenities include a spa, fitness center, recreation pavilion, and multiple swimming pools, along with residences, entertainment, and retail stores.
The oceanview development will be located on two crescents of white sand beaches, situated around Dongshan Ridge, known as the First Mountain of Hainan, which hosts the oldest Buddhist temples in the province.
The Ritz-Carlton, Nanyan Bay is slated to open in 2017.
