Rocco Forte Hotels has announced its acquisition of the Masseria Torre Maizza in Puglia, Italy. The 5-Star resort will undergo a redesign courtesy of Olga Polizzi, director of design for Rocco Forte, and will reopen in May 2019.
Set upon the Adriatic coast near Savelleteri di Fasano, the hotel is housed within a 16th century masseria surrounded by groves of olive trees. The update will refurbish existing guestrooms while also growing the number of suites from 30 to 40. Polizzi will collaborate with local artisans to elevate the interiors with a firmer sense of place. Each accommodation will boast private gardens with views of the surrounding landscape, while the property will be crowned with a rooftop bar as well as a stylish restaurant that overlooks the swimming pool. Additional amenities will include a nine-hole golf course, fitness center, kids club, meeting and event spaces, and access to a private beach.
