Madrid-based hotel brand Room Mate has announced plans to launch its first beachfront location in the Calviá region of Mallorca, Spain. Designed by Barcelona-based designer Jaime Beriestain, the 391-key Room Mate Olivia is planned to debut in summer 2020.
The new outpost will feature four outdoor swimming pools attached to sundecks populated with Balinese beds, many landscaped gardens, a children’s area, in addition to a comprehensive wellness center and a wide range of carefully curated F&B options.
“I have focused on the Mediterranean culture, traditions, and its beaches, as well as being inspired by the vital role craftsmanship plays in many of the Mallorca island’s little towns. I’ve closely studied the materials they use, such as leather, clay, ceramics, and vegetable fibers in order to creatively incorporate them into the hotel’s décor,” Beriestain says.
