The Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany is set to reopen this June, following the completion of comprehensive renovations led by designer Teresa Burgisser. The idyllic hideaway will reemerge newly expanded, with 19 new private suites added to its lineup.
Burgisser says, “The rich but sober beauty and elegance that is perceived by the attention to details, even the most hidden ones, the diversification of the environments where each suite is different from the other, the fusion of technology and craftsmanship, contemporary and ancient, give life to the eclectic and inimitable taste that has always distinguished Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco.”
The suites will be spread across a new complex linked to an infinity semi-Olympic lap pool that’s set against the backdrop of mountain vistas. Timeless and contemporary, the one-bedroom accommodations showcase custom furnishings by local artisans, as well as 19th-century antiques. Historic artwork in walnut frames will complement the wrought iron and walnut composition of the canopy beds installed upon stone floors.
Textures include Tuscan terracotta and ceramic mosaics, and bathrooms will be clad with walnut and creamy travertine. Handsewn curtains, wool carpeting, and other raw fabrics will accent the earthy color palette that recalls Sienese nature. “Everything that is made with solid, comfortable and precious materials survive the passage of time and this is the real secret of the timeless charm of Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco,” Burgisser adds. “Fashion passes style remains.”
Eleven luxe villas are also featured in the room count, inviting stays in restored 17th- and 18th-century Tuscan farmhouses. Fully equipped kitchens, heated infinity pools, and garden terraces upgrade the accommodations with modern comforts. In addition to the new suites, the property will reopen its signature F&B space, Osteria La Canonica, which will now feature an enlarged kitchen and alfresco seating.
