The Royal Lancaster London has revealed its new $105 million renovation from locally based design firm Studio Proof. Overlooking Hyde Park, the 18-story hotel tower has rebranded with its original name and boasts both internal and external updates. The refurbishment began in 2015 with the redesign of the hotel’s signature restaurant Nipa Thai. Following the completion to the Lounge Bar and the Park Room, the renovation will be finalized in May 2018.
The exterior is now appointed with a 26-foot-high glazed façade that reveals the double-height reception space inside. The lobby is anchored with the palatial staircase, which is crafted from 3,230 square feet of white Carrara marble. All 411 guestrooms and suites received a modern design that maximizes each room’s sweeping views of London. Accommodations, which begin at 215 square feet, are also outfitted with waterfall showers and heated floors in the bathrooms. Enhancements have also been made to the property’s 16 meeting and event spaces, which include the Nine Kings and Westbourne suites.
