Kuala Lumpur’s luxury hotel footprint will grow this year with the opening of the RuMa Hotel and Residences. The first Urban Resort Concepts property outside of China, the hotel will feature a design from Shanghai-based MQ-studio that draws inspiration from the culture and heritage of the Malaysian capital.
Named for the Malay word “rumah,” which means home, the RuMa will reflect contemporary interpretations of Kuala Lumpur’s colonial history and the Jungle City’s enduring legacy of hostmanship. Home to 253 upscale guestrooms and suites, the hotel will include highlights such as the flagship Malaysian restaurant ATAS, an expansive infinity pool, and a cantilevered sundeck that overlooks the shimmering skyline. A spa, fitness center, and indoor-outdoor venues will also be featured onsite. Each accommodation will feature handcrafted, artisanal furniture as well.
