The 1,002 JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa has unveiled its latest refresh, which includes enhanced public spaces. Led by Dallas-based firm Seifert Murphy, the modern update reflects the region’s natural beauty.
Informed by the saturated color palette of the river and surrounding limestone cliffs, the design evokes an inviting quality that aims to immerse visitors in the setting. Wood, copper, limestone, leather, and other natural materials convey warmth and contrast details that reinterpret the shape and motion of the nearby Blanco River. Vertical directives juxtapose organic movement in homage to the body of water.
The upper lobby is populated with limestone coffee tables as well as laser-cut hair on hide mixed with notes of sage green and blue steel to accent the soft seating. The interior also incorporates wheat, cognac, sage, lapis, carbon, and camel in the form of artwork and more. In addition, each of the property’s F&B venues—18 Oaks, Cibolo Moon, High Velocity, and Crooked Branch—received facelifts. Velocity now boasts two new 7-foot-long tables made from a single pecan tree. Leather sofas and chairs incorporate a custom-made modern Western design.
