Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is set to expand its European footprint with the addition of the Six Senses Össurá Valley in 2022. Beneath the Aurora Borealis, the property will embrace a backdrop of glacier tongues, volcanoes, icy lagoons, and geothermal lakes that will inform its sustainable composition of renewable and locally sourced materials.
The first phase of development for the project will include the construction of a 70-room resort as well as a series of private cottages—all of which will be crafted by architect John Brevard. A warm lounge will greet visitors, while a library, cinema, water bar, and an Earth Lab that charts the site’s sustainability efforts will serve as social hubs. Wellness will be promoted with spaces like the fitness center, yoga studio, and farmhouse garden as well.
