The Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon is set to debut in October on Félicité, a private island in the Seychelles. The 7,000-square-foot hillside spa facilities will revel in scenic views and house an array of retail options and a nail bar. The resort itself will feature sustainable technologies to better serve the island’s ecosystem.
In collaboration with the Six Senses architecture and design team, Richard Hywel Evans of London-based firm Studio RHE has helped craft a space complementing the 652-acre setting. An open-air entryway to the spa complex is complete with natural detailing such as waterfalls, pools, and a rocky outcrop. An elevated, open-air saltwater pool will include a sundeck and pavilion for yoga and meditation, and the adjacent fitness center boasts 180-degree ocean views.
Clad in refined timber, five double treatment villas will be furnished to reflect the island’s colors, textures, and atmosphere. Villas will also be linked through rope bridges for minimal intrusion on the landscape. Natural rock shading, ocean noise, and fabric shading sails create a sense of heightened tranquility.
Situated between large granite boulders, the glass-clad Rock villa features a cliffside rock shower. The Hanging villa is also set on a large rock—extending outward for a feeling of suspension—and features an outdoor deck and stone pool. Lush greenery frames the Nature villa, while the Cave villa is surrounded by tall boulders to amplify the setting. Set above the sea, the Ocean villa offers a suspended net outside of its room for guests to be closer to the water.
The Six Senses Zil Payson resort occupies one third of Félicité island and comprises 30 villas and several dining options.
