Mexican firm Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos has revealed its proposed design for the upcoming Chablé Sea of Cortéz resort in the Baja California Big Sur. In partnership with luxury resort chain Chablé, the design will comprise concrete-like suites constructed in a 23-degree angle that spread across a sloping desert landscape just north of the Sea of Cortéz. Kicking off by January 2020, the construction is slated for completion in 2022.
Divided between the site’s two hills, the unique concept will accommodate 50 units, each sheltered by an undulating roof canopy and attached to private swimming pool and decks, while the lobby and other amenities including restaurants, an event space, and spa will be located in the valley. Paying homage to its vast surroundings of biological reserves, the beach-front complex will also feature native vegetation atop the concrete rooflines.
