Marriott International opened its newest SpringHill Suites by Marriott property—the SpringHill Suites Houston Downtown/Convention Center in Texas.
Owned by RLJ Lodging Trust, the 167-room hotel is close to the William P. Hobby Airport, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the George R. Brown Convention Center, and Minute Maid Park.
The hotel was repurposed from the former Humble Oil Building, which was built in 1921 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
While the lobby was made intimate with warm colors, walnut-stained wood, and an earth-tone color palette, the building’s original windows and façade were preserved. Oversized accommodations feature baths clad in marble with contemporary accents.
Amenities include guest laundry facilities, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and more than 2,133 square feet of meeting space.
