Standard International, parent company of Standard Hotels and the Bunkhouse Group, has released its upcoming development plans. The company announced it has a total of 15 properties in its pipeline, including its first European outpost.
With the exception of a new unit in Chicago, Standard has its sights set overseas, beginning with the 266-room Standard, London. The property is set to kick off the company’s European expansion this spring in Kings Cross, while additional outposts are plotted for Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya, and Phuket in Thailand; Jakarta; Lisbon; the Maldives; Mexico City; Milan; and Paris.
The Bunkhouse brand of boutique properties is set to open three properties in Austin, Atlanta, and New Orleans as well.
“This is an exciting time for our team,” says Amar Lalvani, CEO of Standard International. “We have a global pipeline of incredible projects well underway in some of the most interesting places in the world, all with first-rate partners. Sophisticated hotel owners and developers have taken note of how genuine and rich our culture and creativity are compared to the plethora of soulless ‘lifestyle brands’ popping up seemingly at every turn.”
Standard International’s current portfolio includes five Standard hotels in New York, Miami and Los Angeles, and seven Bunkhouse properties in Texas, California, and Mexico.
