Starwood Hotels & Resorts has converted the former Conrad Chicago hotel into the Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chicago.
Now under the management of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, the hotel is owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company and is the first in the city to join Starwood’s Luxury Collection brand.
The downtown property is located across from the city’s iconic Magnificent Mile shopping area and takes design cues from the 1930s. Gwen Lux, a sculptor who worked in Chicago during the early 20th century, is the primary inspiration for the building, which features Art Deco-style architecture.
