Starwood has become the first U.S.-based hospitality company to enter the Cuban market in almost 60 years with the opening of its first hotel in Cuba, the Four Points Havana.
Located in the Miramar business and financial district, the 186-room hotel, which has been significantly upgraded to meet Starwood’s global standards, includes 1,000 square feet of meeting space as well as dining at its Don Quixote and El Olivo restaurants. Brand signature Best Brews is also featured onsite offering local beers. A 24-hour fitness center, business center, and fully equipped spa—complete with a sauna and steam bath—round out the amenities.
“As one of the most successful brands in the Latin America region, the Four Points brand’s aggressive footprint—18 hotels in 9 countries—caters to business travelers from around the world,” says Jorge Giannattasio, Starwood’s senior vice president and chief of Latin America operations. “We are confident that it will be a perfect fit for the dynamic market.”
With 200 hotels across 40 countries currently in its portfolio, Four Points maintains the largest pipeline of any Starwood brand, and is set to expand its rooms portfolio by more than 60 percent within the next five years.
