Escondido, California craft brewery Stone Brewing has announced a collaboration with San Diego-based Untitled Hospitality to launch the Stone Hotel. Located on 13 acres across the street from Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens and slated to open in 2018, the $26-million property will be the brand’s first brewery hotel.
San Diego-based designer Paul Basile of BASILE Studio will craft the 100,000-square-foot hotel, where guests will be welcomed via a driveway inlay depicting beer flowing from a tap all the way down to Citracado Parkway. Nods to beer will abound, including in the bar-style reception area and rare historical Stone Brewing memorabilia. A gargoyle motif will also be found throughout. The 99 oversized guestrooms— all exceeding 375 square feet—will feature water-saving and sustainable technologies as well as design details like custom furniture and floor-to-ceiling window systems that open onto expansive balconies for an open-air environment.
The hotel’s event space will comprise an 8,000-square-foot ballroom, a 10,000-square-foot rooftop garden and pool, and nearly an acre of outdoor space. An expansive fitness center, outdoor walking trails, and a yet-to-be-announced restaurant will also be located onsite.
