The Stratford Hotel is slated to debut this May within the Manhattan Loft Gardens skyscraper in East London. Located in the forthcoming central development of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, East London, the 145-room hotel will span seven stories of the 42-story development crafted by SOM.
Designed by Danish design firm Space Copenhagen, the hotel pays homage to timeless glamour, future cityscapes, and the longterm residents of New York’s Chelsea Hotel.
A fireplace ascends nearly 30 feet in the convivial triple-height lobby on the ground floor, where a handcrafted oak reception desk is detailed with darkened brass and offsets sculptural lighting. F&B outlets include Stratford Brasserie and signature eatery Allegra. Public spaces feature delicately textured plaster walls, natural oak, warm metals, and natural stones framed by a polished and dark pigmented concrete floor.
Modern guestrooms and suites are wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows. Various wood hues appear alongside warm metals and softly curved upholstered shapes. Serene stone-clad bathrooms are equipped with heated floors, separate bathtubs, and sculpted mirrors.
“We are fascinated by the location and having the opportunity to be a part of creating a future identity for Stratford,” a statement from Space Copenhagen’s Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou says. “We cannot wait to spend a whole day at the Stratford starting with drinks around the fireplace in the lobby, ascending the staircase into the mezzanine club for intimate conversation, and a light snack and completing the evening by dining at Allegra.”
