Beginning June 2021, the Seagate Resort in Delray Beach, Florida will undergo a renovation led by New York-based Studio Robert McKinley. Omaha-based architecture and planning firm Leo A Daly will oversee the architectural updates of the project, which will span the property’s hotel and spa, beach club, and country club. The hotel and beach club are anticipated to reopen in fall 2021, and the country club will debut soon after.
The overhaul aims to reposition the Long Weekend Hospitality getaway as a more intimate luxury experience. All 154 guestrooms will be redesigned along with public spaces, including lounges and F&B venues. The beach club will be reimagined to evoke grandeur, with thoughtfully considered amenities for both members and resort guests. A freestanding wellness center will be added to the country club, as well as a golf performance center, an indoor-outdoor dining concept, and a resort-style pool.
“When I first visited Delray, I was struck by the laidback, authentic beach town feeling that has been largely preserved,” says Robert McKinley, founder of his eponymous Manhattan design practice. “Knowing that the Seagate has a deep-rooted history in the community gives us a tremendous opportunity to tell a very unique story. Our goal is to capture the energy of the classic Florida resort, transporting guests to another time and place.”
