The Terranea Resort, A Destination Hotel, has unveiled its nearly $40 million restoration from San Francisco-based design firm BAMO, coinciding with the Los Angeles property’s eight anniversary. Retaining the hotel’s classic Spanish Colonial style, the redesign also embraces the casual elegance of coastal California.
All 582 guestrooms and suites have seen upgrades including new décor and furnishings, wuch as marble tables in place of existing desks. Premium and standard guestrooms are outfitted with wood and mirrored millwork panels that serve as a rich backdrop for the Spanish Colonial styles conveyed by the raised-panel dressers and modern tables. Contemporary, locally sourced artwork also complements the coastal tones and refined palette. Upgrades to Shearwater and Vanderlip suites combine traditional and modern elements like warm wood tones, while Terranea’s bungalows, casitas, and villas each boast enhancements as well.
The onsite dining concept Catalina Kitchen has reopened, complete with an overhauled interior, new external décor, and an open kitchen and new bar. The casual outdoor dining venue the Grill at Terranea has also been introduced.
